There are two types of point-of-care (PoC) systems that connect to the RHIE at present. These are as follows:

• The Rwandan Implementation of OpenMRS - This is an EMR system developed and maintained by the Rwandan ministry of health.
• The Rwandan RapidSMS implementation - This is a system that enables CHWs to report information from communities that they visit using their mobile phones via SMS technology.
