ANC : Antenatal Care VisitRapidSMS Rwanda is used by Community health workers (CHWs) in Rwanda to track pregnancies and support maternal, neonatal and early child health.
Health workers register pregnant women via free SMS text messages and send regular patient updates to a central server.
RapidSMS helps community health workers track and monitor pregnant women during pregnancy and up to 42 days after delivery.
Women identified as “high risk” are referred for check-ups. This system also monitors every child from birth until the age of 9 months,
and provides CHWs with information to improve maternal and child health at the community level.
